PNG to SVG converter

Turn a PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF or BMP image into an SVG vector. The tracing happens in your browser, so the picture never leaves your device.

How to convert a PNG to SVG

1. Click the upload button and choose your image, or try one of the sample images. 2. Pick a preset: Logo for flat graphics with a few colours, Silhouette for one-colour stamps and cut files, Illustration for drawings with more colours, or Ultra for maximum detail. 3. Fine-tune the number of colours, the path smoothing and whether the background should be transparent. 4. Drag the before/after slider to compare the result with the original. 5. Download the SVG, or copy the code straight to your clipboard.

Very large images are scaled down to about 1200 pixels on the longest side before tracing, to keep the page responsive. The SVG itself has no resolution, so it still prints sharp at any size.

Tips for a better result

Tracing works best on logos, icons, line art and flat illustrations with clear edges. Photos can be traced, but they turn into many small shapes and a large file. Start with fewer colours and raise the number only if details go missing. If the edges look jagged, increase smoothing. If you want to put the logo on a coloured background, turn on transparent background so the white area is removed.

Is it really free?

Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on the number of conversions. You can use the SVG files you make in personal and commercial projects, as long as you have the rights to the original image.
